Dr. Harry Heiman practiced many years as a family medicine physician and is a Clinical Assoicate Professor on the faculty at the School of Public Health at Georgia State University. He has been very involved in health policy, has an interest in health disparities, and is a sought-after speaker in our community. He is frequently interviewed and quoted in the media and has been a community spokesperson during the pandemic.
Dr. Phyllis Kozarsky is a Professor Emerita at Emory University. She began her career in HIV care and teaching. She became the clinical consultant to the CDC, where she remains, and is an expert in tropical medicine and travelers' health. She is also currently consulting for major league sports, the cruise industry, and the local community regarding the pandemic.
Her expertise includes pre-travel health advice and education, including immunizations and/or medicines to prevent disease; post-travel illness; global health, migration and quarantine; tropical medicine; and the epidemiology of travel related infections and infectious diseases in general.
Dr. David Rimland is a Professor Emeritus in infectious diseases at Emory University. He is an expert in infection control measures and was very involved in teaching and mentoring in infectious diseases at Emory. During his long career he was also very involved in HIV care and research. He has recently been invaluable to our community in developing COVID prevention guidance.
