We are offering Wisdom Pairings twice on the same day: 12-1 pm, with featured speaker Jay Bailey; 7-8:30 pm with featured speaker David Feldman. You can choose to attend the session that fits with your schedule the best or choose both if you want to get double the amount of inspiration.

Federation believes in the power of relationships so our Innovation department launched Wisdom Pairings, an intentional community for personal connection and growth. Whether you consider yourself to be a mentor, a mentee, or perhaps somewhere in between, you will find emerging and experienced professionals ready to share their stories and listen as well. At Wisdom Pairings, we are all inspired to build stronger networks and create a deeper sense of belonging.

Featured speaker for 12-1:30 pm program

Committed to living by his personal motto, “Build As We Climb”, change agent, thought leader, entrepreneur and emerging philanthropist, James M. Bailey has dedicated his life to serving others.James was recently named President and CEO of the Russell Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE). Honoring the great legacy and visionary business leadership of Herman J. Russell, Sr., he will lead the development of the largest center in America, driven by impact, dedicated to empowering African American entrepreneurs and small business owners; over 50,000 square feet designed to inspire ideas, create jobs, grow companies, and increase wealth in the community.

An Atlanta native and die-hard Georgia Bulldog, James has a proven track record of success, recognized by 3 U.S. Presidents for his leadership and community efforts. In 2012, James was one of eight Americans honored at the White House as a “Champion of Change: Following in the Footsteps of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”

A National Point of Light Award recipient, James was also recognized as one of the 10 most Outstanding Young People of Atlanta, honored with a Presidential Lifetime Volunteer Service Award from the Obama Administration and officially named an “Amazing Atlantan” by the city of Atlanta.

A graduate of Leadership Georgia, Leadership Atlanta, and the Regional Leadership Institute, James was also named to both the Atlanta Business Chronicle and Georgia Trend Magazine’s “40 Under 40 Best and Brightest Leaders of the Future”. He is a recipient of the coveted Whitney M. Young National Community Service Medallion, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drum Major for Service Award, a New Leaders Council Fellow, member of Alpha Phi Alpha and the 100 Black Men of Atlanta.

David Feldman | Director of Strategy at 3 Owl

Featured speaker for 7-8:30 pm program

An accomplished guitarist and music-lover with an entrepreneurial mindset, David Feldman graduated from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School with a unique dual degree in business and music. He has since dedicated himself to supporting and enriching Atlanta’s booming creative community.In 2012, he founded 3 Owl, a branding, web, and content agency. With a team that includes some of Atlanta’s brightest creative professionals, the award-winning agency has helped build the brands and websites of major Atlanta-based organizations including Mellow Mushroom, Mizuno USA, Emory University, and Center Stage Atlanta.

3 Owl is also the branding and design partner for ATL Collective, a nonprofit Feldman helped grow to enrich Atlanta’s music community. The organization brings musicians together to perform live covers of classic albums at venues all over Atlanta.

David is a frequent guest lecturer at Emory’s Goizueta Business School, The New School (Atlanta), and General Assembly.
