Q: What would your life be like without a strong Federation? Well, it would be pretty frustrating. My family is heavily invested in the work of Federation and uses many of the resources that Federation provides, such as PJ Library, overnight camping incentives, Jewish Kids Groups, bringing informational and key topic speakers to the community, supporting Jewish day schools, and of course, the many trips we have taken to Israel under the Federation umbrella, and so much more! The community needs a strong and vibrant Federation to be the convener of Jewish life for generations to come!
Q: We talk a lot about the satisfaction of participating in something bigger than one’s self. How does that feel for you? It feels awesome to be part of something that is so much bigger than one person or one thing. Federation is about a community of people and bringing everyone together, so we are part of something that is so much more encompassing. Yes, there is a tremendous amount of satisfaction from being a small fish in a huge pond. For example, when many are standing together, side by side, we can fight antisemitism and help build the future of Jewish life here in Atlanta and beyond. We’re building a community that our children and grandchildren can be proud of!
Q: When you meet with donors who are new to Atlanta, how do you make the case for the Community Campaign? First of all, I say with tremendous conviction that the Community Campaign is the most important thing that Federation does. The Campaign is currently supporting more than 60 organizations here in Atlanta and overseas, and Federation is best positioned to carefully invest this money to maximize impact.
I would also add there are so many needs in our community. Federation works every day to completely understand the critical needs and prioritize how dollars should be invested
