Jori Mendel

VP of Innovation

Jori Mendel has just joined Federation as our very first VP of Innovation. The new position reflects our commitment to innovation and the incubation of big ideas to advance the Jewish Community. Jori is a high energy doer, connector and relationship builder. She earned an MBA at Pepperdine University and spent the last eight years leading start-up teams at AT&T, rolling out strategic technology solutions around the world. She leads the Innovation team to help the community ignite, grow and celebrate the ideas and leaders in our community. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have been able to invest over $500k in community Innovation ideas, create Wisdom Pairings, a curated community for real conversations with real people, re-imagine JumpSpark, our thriving Jewish teen education and engagement initiative and so much more. “With the hard work the Atlanta Jewish community has devoted to The Front Porch initiative, the time for innovation and growth is now! it has always been my dream to give back to the community in an impactful way. I am excited to bring my passion for innovation and my corporate experience to help catapult the energy, momentum, excitement, creativity and innovation of the community forward.”

Jori sees herself as a change agent, but she’s also a stakeholder in our Jewish community. As a mom who lives in Morningside she’s zealous about local engagement. “I want our Jewish future to be exciting, inviting, and accessible for everyone. So, I’m going to be a resource to help connect people through personalized, curated experiences and moments. I want to spark and foster innovation, enable local leaders, individuals and organizations to transform their neighborhoods.”

Jori actively participates as a board member for her NPU (Neighborhood Planning Unit), Morningside Masterplan Steering Committee and the Atlanta BeltLine, and is actively engaged with the Piedmont Park Conservancy and CHOA. She loves travel, yoga, chocolate croissants, coffee, creating new experiences, and spending time on the Atlanta BeltLine and enjoying the richness of Piedmont Park with her husband, daughters and puppy.
