5 FAST and EASY ideas to support our preschool children at home
As a mom of 4 ranging from ages 6-16, I get it! Between working from home, keeping up with their schooling them, keeping the peace at home, and keeping my own mental health in check, I am barely staying afloat! My 10th grader, 6th grader and 4th grader have been engaged in assigned work from school, but my preschool daughter doesn’t have much on her plate! As an Inclusion Coordinator at the Jewish Abilities Alliance, I needed to remind myself of what I can do to make this work better not only for her, but also myself! Preschool children learn in so many different ways. See below for EASY, FAST and SIMPLE ways to assist your child’s learning at home through sensory support. During this time at home, I see my daughter’s sensory systems needing different things at different times. At times, she wants to sit and do a puzzle, and at times she’s jumping on the couch! Providing children with easy, simple yet meaningful sensory experiences will help meet these varying needs and will assist in providing them with meaningful learning experiences and ability to better focus and avoid meltdowns.
