Director of Philanthropic Services

As Jewish Atlanta continues to boom, the Atlanta Jewish Foundation intends to play a bold and creative role. The Foundation is part of Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta. The Foundation manages over 1000 funds (donor-advised fund, agency funds, restricted funds, unrestricted funds) in the Atlanta community. The Foundation is looking for a creative, motivated, flexible, detail-oriented, and proactive Director of to join our efforts as we expand the ways we engage with donors in the community.

You will work with a passionate team of Foundation professionals to increase the impact of the organization’s work here in Atlanta, in Israel and the world and help philanthropists give with more meaning and with ties to their Jewish values. You will collaborate with our key fundholders to provide customized philanthropic services and engagement leading to increasing the assets of the Foundation and grant impact to the community. You will help grow our fundholder base, by developing and leading strategic development and implementation of Foundation’s prospecting plans. You will be responsible for a broad range of initiatives and projects to advance our efforts through collective and individual fundholder and prospective fundholder opportunities to fulfill strategic milestones for the Foundation of impact, relationships, planned gifts, and service.

Director of Israel Engagement

The Director of Israel Engagement will oversee two main programs that aim to increase Israel connection and education focused on youth. The key initiatives include:

  • Create meaningful connections between teens in Atlanta and the people, land, and state of Israel
  • Lengthen the arc of engagement for teen participants with Israel and the Jewish community
  • Increase participation of Atlanta teens in summer Israel travel experiences
  • Bring Israel and Jewish Atlanta together through human connections with a focus on the Shinshinim as a key driver of engagement
  • Provide Israel education and engagement to local Atlanta organizations reaching a variety of demographics and age groups

Donor Officer

Education and Engagement Manager

We are looking for a driven self-starter to join our team as we expand the ways we impact the community through Jewish education and engagement.

JumpSpark, Atlanta’s initiative for Jewish teen engagement, connects and collaborates with the community to create more meaningful and defining moments for Jewish teens in Atlanta while enhancing the infrastructure of Jewish education and engagement in Atlanta. JumpSpark invests in existing programs, supports new and innovative ideas, and thinks creatively to meet the needs of teens, their parents, and Jewish educators and professionals that work with teens. Our portfolio includes Teen Programs, Navigating Parenthood workshops, Jewish Professional Development, and Grants. JumpSpark exists to bring together Jews across Atlanta to preserve and progress our community for the future and help teens grow and discover their best selves.

JumpSpark is a major initiative of Federation’s Community Planning and Impact (CPI) department. CPI includes all of Federation’s grants and allocations, our innovation portfolio, as well as programs focused on Jewish engagement and education. As we seek to align programming and services to best meet the needs of our community, the Education and Engagement Manager will have programmatic responsibilities in other areas of CPI in addition to JumpSpark.

We seek an enthusiastic creative thinker, bridge-builder, and innovator who is excited by JumpSpark’s and CPI’s mission to offer pathways into Jewish living by creating opportunities for genuine connection and growth for Jews from every part of our city. The Education and Engagement Manager will be team oriented, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, willing to take risks, and be committed to Federation’s core values of excellence, fearlessness, and empathy. The candidate should be familiar with the Jewish education and engagement landscape, players, and trends and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative, and experimental work environment with general supervision.

Administrative Associate | Office Services

OVERVIEW:  Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta continues to build a diverse team of highly motivated individuals to create a strong community of philanthropy and engagement. Federation seeks candidates who are motivated, have a positive attitude, and thrive in an inclusive, dynamic environment.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS: The Administrative Associate will be responsible for Federation’s Office Services, including answering incoming calls, sorting mail, preparing mailings, and interacting with and assisting employees, tenants, and vendors. This role will also support Federation team members as needed for special projects as needed. A positive self-starter and problem-solver, this person will utilize strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with fellow professionals, community members, and other stakeholders.

Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller – Federation leads the day-to-day accounting operations for the Federation, ALEF Student Scholarship Fund, and Community Health Trust, and works closely with the Assistant Controller on the Atlanta Jewish Foundation. The Assistant Controller supervises a team of five including two Senior Accountants and ensures the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions to support donors, internal departments, and external users of financial data. The Assistant Controller continually strives for excellence in the performance of the department’s tasks and the quality of the financial records and will provide superior internal and external customer service. The Assistant Controller works closely with the Controller and CFO/CAO.

PJ RSJ Connector

As Jewish Atlanta continues to boom, Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta intends to play a bold and creative role.  PJ Library is a powerful outreach tool that aims to build connections and communities for Jewish families throughout Greater Atlanta. An inclusive program for families of all Jewish backgrounds, PJ Library in Atlanta seeks outgoing, motivated, and networked parents to create new, barrier-free Jewish experiences, expand communities, and impart relevant Jewish content to Russian-speaking Jewish families with young children. This position works with a passionate team at Federation to strengthen family-friendly Jewish Atlanta and partnerships for the community. Position runs through August 31, 2020 with possibility for extension.
