Speaker: Sheri Russo, Field Coordinator, Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA)

As the Metro Atlanta field coordinator for the Georgia Emergency Management Agency-Homeland Security (GEMA-HS), Sheri Russo provides all-hazards emergency management consultation services to nine metro Atlanta counties, helping them create emergency operations plans, develop standard operating procedures and design innovative training exercises. She also helps coordinate the response to disasters in Georgia to ensure communities get the resources they need to recover. Russo joined GEMA in 2001 as school safety coordinator for GEMA’s School Safety Unit, where she provided on-site technical assistance and crisis management planning to schools in metro Atlanta. Russo has a Bachelors degree in community health from Georgia Southern University and a Masters degree in Public Health from Mercer University.
