Andy Berger

Schoenbaum Shinshin

Shalom! My name is Andy, I’m 18 years old, and I’m super excited to be one of the Shinshinim coming to Atlanta this year!

I’m from Herzliya, a city right in the center of Israel, not far from the beach. I live with my parents, Talia and Eli, my older brother Oliver (who’s currently in the army), and my younger sister Emma. We’re really close as a family and love spending time together—especially when we travel. And of course, there’s Coco, our dog, who basically runs the house!

Tennis has been a big part of my life since I was a kid—I’ve been playing for over 12 years. A few years ago, I did a coaching course at the Wingate Institute and became a certified coach, which has been amazing. I’ve been working as a coach for the past two years, and I really love it. Besides tennis, I’m super into sports in general, and I’m also really interested in politics, global affairs, and history. I even started my own little news channel called Berger News Live where I post updates and share what’s going on in the world.

I went to Hakfar Hayarok High School, where I majored in History and Social Studies—two subjects I really enjoyed learning. During high school, I was also part of a few leadership programs and did some volunteering with teens from underserved communities. Those experiences helped me understand how important it is to listen to different perspectives and be open-minded, especially when it comes to meeting new people and learning from them.

I’m excited to meet everyone in the Atlanta community! I’m really enjoying sharing my story, learning about your Jewish life in America, and building real connections. Together, we create fun, meaningful experiences that we’ll all remember for a long time.
