Rotem Ben Aharon
Schoenbaum Shinshin

Hi everyone! My name is Rotem, and I’m so excited to be joining the Atlanta community this year as a Shinshin.
I grew up in the Gan Raveh Regional Council, not far from Tel Aviv, where I’ve lived in both moshav Beit Oved and moshav Netaim. Living in these close-knit places taught me how important community is, and I can’t wait to bring that spirit with me to Atlanta.
My family is a huge part of my life. I have a wonderful younger half-sister, Hili, who is 9 years old. Even though there’s a big age gap between us, we’re super close. She looks up to me as a role model, and we talk every day about everything. Being someone she trusts and learns from is honestly one of the things I’m most proud of. My parents have also always supported me in everything I do, and I’m really grateful for that.
I recently graduated high school, where I majored in architecture. I’ve been passionate about design and construction since I was little, and I hope to keep studying and working in this field in the future. For me, architecture isn’t just about buildings—it’s about creating spaces that bring people together, just like community work. That idea is also what drew me to the Tzofim (Israeli Scouts). Over the past few years, I’ve been deeply involved in Shevet Idan, first as a counselor and later as a leader of the 9th-grade group, helping them grow into future counselors themselves. This experience taught me so much about leadership, teamwork, and building strong connections.
In my free time, I love hanging out with my family and friends, playing and watching soccer (I’m a huge Barcelona fan!), staying active in the Scouts, and reading and learning more about architecture. I love sharing my Israeli story, culture, and experiences with all of you and creating unforgettable memories together. So happy to be here.
