Behind the Scenes: How the Atlanta Jewish Marketing Network Is Building Stronger Connections Across Jewish Atlanta
April 10, 2026

It started like so many meaningful things do, with a simple message.
In July 2024, Lydia McBratney, Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta’s Digital Communications Manager, and Mira Cohen, Senior Manager of Creative Strategy at JF&CS, connected over Instagram with a shared realization: in a city full of Jewish organizations working toward similar goals, the people responsible for telling those stories need to communicate more.
“I figured, I can’t be the only one that feels that way,” Mira said, “turns out I’m not.”
What followed was the creation of the Atlanta Jewish Marketing Network (AJMN): a growing group that is strengthening communication among marketing professionals across Jewish Atlanta, from synagogues to day schools to college programs and Jewish non-profits large and small.

For Federation, the idea feels familiar. Convening the community has long been central to its work, bringing leaders and organizations together to maximize collective impact. While AJMN was created independently, it reflects that same spirit, extending it to the marketing professionals behind the scenes who tell the community’s story.
At its core, the network is about connection.
“We wanted something a little bit more human and direct,” Mira explained.
For Lydia, that connection comes to life through relationships: “This network enables us to put faces to names and reduces barriers to communication between our organizations.”
That connection is already making a difference. Through meetups and a group chat, participants share ideas, troubleshoot challenges, and build relationships that make collaboration easier and more effective.
For donors, connecting these professionals translates into real impact; and that connection is especially important when it comes to how these organizations share their work with donors.
Mira says, “The roles of these marketers are to tell stories and get the message out for the initiatives that people are donating to and funding. When the storytellers are connected, the entire community benefits.”
Organizations can align messaging, share resources, and amplify one another’s work, ensuring that donor-supported programs reach the right audiences with clarity and impact.
“We’re not competitors,” Mira added, “We’re part of the same ecosystem.”
Currently, the network meets four times a year, with the most recent meetup hosted by, and at The Epstein School.
Ari Nooromid, Marketing & Digital Communications Coordinator at Epstein, said: “For me, the marketing meet‑ups are an invaluable opportunity to exchange ideas and brainstorm ways to strengthen our work. We all represent organizations with stories to tell, and many of us face similar challenges. By collaborating on what works, acknowledging what doesn’t, and celebrating our wins together, we build a supportive and inspiring community of professionals. Having the [recent] meetup at Epstein shows how we tell our story and gave this community a place to gather together.”
Others echoed that same sense of connection:
“It’s great to be connected,” one participant shared.
“It’s so great to meet people and work through situations together,” said another.
And for newcomers, the impact is immediate: “This was my first event, and it exceeded my expectations!”

In a field where many teams are small, that collaboration also creates efficiency, helping organizations do more with what they have and extend the reach of every dollar donors give to these organizations.
What began as a conversation between two professionals has quickly grown into a community-wide effort, with organizations stepping up to host and shape future gatherings.
Already, this work is making a visible difference; in stronger stories, deeper collaboration, and a more connected Jewish Atlanta.
