Give Through Your IRA

Retirement offers a unique opportunity to grow your charitable impact while reducing your tax burden.

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals age 70½ and older* to make tax-free charitable gifts directly from a traditional IRA. You may direct up to $111,000 annually (or $222,000 for married couples filing jointly)* to qualified charities while satisfying all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

Although QCDs cannot be contributed to a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), they can support a specific nonprofit organization and/ or be used to establish a restricted fund to support the nonprofit organizations that matter to you.

It’s one of the simplest and most tax-advantaged ways to support the causes you love – today, and for generations to come.

* As of June, 2026. Regulations are subject to change.

You can request your QCD be sent directly from your administrator to the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta:

Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta
6120 Powers Ferry Rd NW
Atlanta, GA 30339
Federal Tax ID Number: 58-1021791

Ask your administrator to include your name and purpose in the documentation that will arrive with the gift—such as a cover letter or memo line—to ensure your gift is applied appropriately and that we can send your receipt.

Here are the steps to give through your IRA:

Step 1: Contact your financial advisor or IRA administrator to begin the transfer.

Step 2: Provide them with our organization’s name, address, and Tax ID number, which is 58-1021791.

Step 3: Make sure the distribution is sent directly to us.

Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)
