Meet Sarah Freeman, our new Interfaith Connector

About Sarah

Sarah is Atlanta born and raised and grew up deeply rooted in the Atlanta Jewish community; from childhood through adulthood, she’s truly “been through it” at every stage of life. Professionally, Sarah works day-to-day as a Physician Assistant in urgent care, bringing compassion, leadership, and care into everything she does.

Why Interfaith Work?

Life has a funny way of unfolding, and for Sarah, that included finding herself in an interfaith relationship, even though it wasn’t what she initially imagined for her life path. Through that experience, she discovered firsthand how challenging it can be to find community, resources, and guidance when navigating interfaith life.

Instead of feeling discouraged, Sarah leaned in. She and her boyfriend spent time researching, learning, and working with other interfaith organizations to intentionally build their household, and along the way, Sarah realized just how important it is to have a home base where interfaith families feel seen, supported, and included. So when the Interfaith Connector role opened up, it felt like a perfect fit.

Why This Work Matters

Interfaith relationships are a growing part of our community, and Sarah believes Federation plays a crucial role in making sure interfaith individuals and families don’t feel lost or forgotten.

What Sarah Loves About Interfaith Life

One of Sarah’s favorite parts of being in an interfaith relationship? Communication. From explaining holidays to answering thoughtful questions like “Why do we do this?”, Sarah says it’s pushed her to reconnect more deeply with Judaism, sometimes even rediscovering traditions she grew up with but never had to explain before. “It’s made me more engaged, more curious, and more connected,” she says. “And it’s opened up meaningful conversations, not just about religion, but about partnership and values.”
