Young Leadership Division Journey to Poland

Join the Young Leadership Division of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta for an unforgettable journey through Poland’s rich Jewish heritage and history. From June 29 to July 5, 2026, explore Warsaw and Kraków with a curated itinerary that blends cultural discovery, historical reflection, and meaningful engagement with local Jewish communities. Designed for young professionals ages 22-40, this highly subsidized experience will bring our community together to bear witness to the atrocities endured by the Jewish people, while also exploring the vibrant, resilient beauty of Jewish life today.

Journey Cost & Payment
  • $1500 per person (double occupancy) 
  • $545 single supplement (optional) 

International airfare not included.

Payment Timeline: Full payment is due at registration.  

Cancellation Policy: $1,000 refund if canceled by April 15, 2026 (75 days before travel).  

Please Note: Federation Annual Campaign participation of at least $180 is required to attend the journey. If you have not already donated, you may do so here.

What’s Included: 

  • One group airport arrival transfer (if on suggested group flight)

  • Travel and medical insurance (we strongly suggest the acquisition of comprehensive medical and travel (“Cancel for Any Reason”) insurance).

Trip Insurance

All participants are highly encouraged to purchase travel insurance. Federation cannot refund costs due to missed or canceled flights or rescheduling. 

Allianz travel insurance is strongly recommended and must be purchased at least 10 days before travel. Participants can select any travel insurance of their choosing.

Recommended Flights

Participants must arrive in Warsaw on June 29, 2026 (depart Atlanta on June 28th). Participants depart from Krakow on July 5, 2026. You must book your flight as a multi-city as the arrival airport (WAW) is different than the departure airport (KRK).  

Suggested Flight:  

Departure: June 28 (ATL to AMS: DL 9375, AMS to WAW: DL 9539) – 10:40 PM departure, 4:25 PM arrival +1 day (June 29 arrival). 

Return: July 5 (KRK to AMS: DL 9577, AMS to ATL: DL 9374) – 11:50 AM departure, 8:25 PM arrival.

Day 1: June 29 – Arrival  

  • Individual departures and arrivals to Warsaw (WAW) 
  • Settle in at the Mercure Grand Hotel 
  • Dinner on own 

Day 2: June 30 — Warsaw: History & Renewal 

  • Mission kickoff + meet your guide 
  • Visit JCC Warsaw + strategic briefing with Head of JDC Poland 
  • Lunch at the JCC 
  • Guided tour: Rappaport Memorial, Warsaw Ghetto, Umshlagplatz, Mila 18 
  • Opening dinner with The Jewish Agency for Israel – Poland and beneficiaries from Ukraine 
  • Overnight: Mercure Grand Hotel 

Day 3: July 1 — Memory & Meaning 

  • Visit Treblinka Death Camp 
  • Boxed lunch 
  • Explore the preserved shtetl town of Tykocin + synagogue visit 
  • Memorial ceremony in the Lopuchowo Forest 
  • Dinner with Chief Rabbi Michael Schudrich and Hillel Poland 
  • Overnight: Mercure Grand Hotel 

Day 4: July 2 — Warsaw to Kraków 

  • Visit the Jewish Cemetery and walk historic ghetto sites: Grzybowski Square, Próżna Street, Waliców Street, Chłodna Street 
  • Pendolino Fast Train to Kraków (lunch onboard) 
  • Checkin to Hotel Qubus 
  • Dinner on your own 
  • Overnight: Hotel Qubus, Kraków 

Day 5: July 3 — Auschwitz-Birkenau & Shabbat 

  • Full guided visit of Auschwitz-Birkenau, including documentary film 
  • Lunch in Oświęcim 
  • Briefing at JCC Kraków 
  • Shabbat Dinner with Kraków’s Jewish community 
  • Overnight: Hotel Qubus 

Day 6: July 4 — Kraków’s Jewish Past & Present 

  • Explore Podgórze (Kraków Ghetto): Eagle Pharmacy Museum, Ghetto Wall 
  • Visit exterior of Oskar Schindler’s Factory 
  • Lunch at Klezmer-Hois in historic Kazimierz 
  • Walking tour of Kazimierz (Jewish district) 
  • Reflection session + Farewell Dinner 
  • Optional: Attend the Shalom on Szeroka Street Concert at the Jewish Culture Festival 
  • Overnight: Hotel Qubus 

Day 7: July 5 — Return 

  • Early breakfast 
  • Group transfer to Kraków (KRK) Airport 
  • Depart for home
