You’ve Seen Cuba. Now You Can Help Sustain Its Jewish Community.

When you traveled to Cuba with Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta’s Young Leadership Division or Women’s Philanthropy, you experienced something remarkable: a small but vibrant Jewish community determined to preserve Jewish life despite extraordinary challenges.

You met people who gather for Shabbat each week. You saw the role synagogues and community centers play in providing connection, support, and dignity. You witnessed firsthand the resilience that defines Cuba’s Jewish community.

Today, that resilience is being tested.

Across the island, rising prices, food shortages, frequent power outages, and continued emigration have made daily life increasingly difficult. Approximately 700 Jews remain in Cuba, and many are struggling to meet basic needs. Nearly 60% of the community relies on ongoing support for essentials such as food, medicine, social services, and community connection.

Through our longstanding partnership with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and local community leaders, critical programs continue to provide care and ensure that Jewish life remains accessible to those who need it most.

Help Sustain This Community

You have seen firsthand what this community means to the people who rely on it.

  • A donation of $1,000 can sponsor a community Shabbat dinner.
  • A donation of $5,000 can help provide transportation that connects community members to Jewish life and essential services.

Whatever amount feels right to you, your support will help ensure Cuba’s Jewish community can continue to gather, learn, celebrate, and care for one another.
