Erez

Shalom everyone! My name is Erez, and I am really excited to be a part of the Shinshinim program! I live in Kfar Sava, a city in central Israel, with my parents, younger sister, and younger brother. My mom is a social worker and makeup artist, and my dad works in the insurance business. We are a very close family, and one of my favorite family traditions is eating hummus together for lunch on Fridays. To me, it’s a break from the hectic everyday life that we all experience and an opportunity to share experiences from the past week. During the past few years, I’ve been a leader in an organization called CISV (Children’s International Summer Villages), which is a global organization focused on building friendships around the world. Last year, I flew to a camp in Belgium as a junior counselor, which was an amazing experience. I met people from 16 different countries around the globe, and it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. In high school, I majored in international relations and history. I have always wanted to be knowledgeable and well-educated, and those are two subjects I am very interested and invested in. Most of my interests and hobbies center around vintage and retro relics. I’ve grown to appreciate physical media in all its forms, and I collect all sorts of knickknacks, such as posters, street signs, and vinyl records. Music is a big part of my life, and I have many vinyl records in my collection, but my absolute favorites are Gazoz, ABBA, and Queen. I hope to someday find a vinyl record of the Israeli Song Festival of 1973. I can’t wait to get to know the Jewish community in Atlanta, create memories, and share traditions.
