Melanie Yonks is our Affinity Groups Manager. She guides and supports volunteers by creating meaningful opportunities to connect and engage with Federation. Through a series of curated Jewish professional events and leadership programs, Melanie helps build awareness of Federation, fosters a strong sense of connection, and offers pathways for involvement within the Jewish Atlanta community.

An Atlanta native, Melanie attended the University of Texas at Austin before raising her family in Dallas, Texas. Prior to returning to Atlanta with her husband to be closer to one of their two daughters, she spent nine years in the nonprofit sector. During that time, she produced the award-winning television program Planet911 Youth Reports, served as Director of Education and Community Outreach for EarthX, and later worked as Corporate Development Director for VolunteerNow.

Melanie’s earlier career includes work in event production, strategic communications, and video production for two Fortune 500 companies as well as the Dallas ABC affiliate. She also spent time in Los Angeles working in feature films and has served on more than 20 nonprofit boards, many within the Jewish community. Currently, she volunteers with Temple Emanuel, CAC, and CaringWorks and loves living in Roswell surrounded by nature.
