Join JAccess (Formerly Known as Jewish Abilities Atlanta) during Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance, and Inclusion Month (JDAIM), as we come together to make a difference!

Join us on Wednesday, February 12th, 2025, for Waivers and Wages Advocacy Day at the Georgia State Capitol, hosted by the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD). This impactful event empowers Georgia’s intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) community to engage directly with state leaders and advocate for critical policy changes.

Why Attend?

This year’s Advocacy Day highlights issues such as COMP/NOW Waivers. These waivers provide essential care and support to over 7,000 Georgians currently waiting for access. They play a vital role in enabling individuals with disabilities to achieve employment, financial stability, and active participation in their communities.

Whether you’re new to advocacy or a seasoned pro, this is your opportunity to make a real difference by influencing policies that shape the future for individuals with I/DD.

By signing up here, you’ll reserve your spot on the JAccess bus, which will provide transportation to and from the event. However, please note that you must also register with GCDD to participate in the Advocacy Day activities at the Capitol.

• Departure Location & Time:
  • 8 AM at Kroger, (Georgetown) 4498 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338
  • 8:45 AM at Oak Grove Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Rd, Decatur, GA 30033
• Return Location & Time: Depart that Capitol at 1:15pm dropping at Oak Grove Methodist Church then onto Kroger, Georgetown
• Cost: Free to participate
• What to Bring: state issued ID, water bottle, lunch will be provided
• Who Should Join: Anyone passionate about advocating for disability inclusion and community support
