Faces of October 7th – A Survivor’s Story

February 1 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

October 7th is a day that we will never forget.
Our lives were changed forever as we watched our Israeli family get mercilessly attacked.
Together, we have cried, prayed, and mourned.
As we cross more than 100 days, the hostages and those we have lost remain at the forefront of our minds.

Join Federation’s NextGen and the Jewish Agency For Israel to hear the personal story of Jenny Sividya, a survivor of the Nova Music Festival who lost her only brother and friend on October 7th. Hear her first-hand account of the experience, how she faced the unimaginable and emerged stronger.

HEAR HER STORY, BEAR WITNESS TO THE ATROCITY.

Jenny is a 41-year-old mother of two who was an attendee at the Nova Music Festival. Born and raised in Petach Tikva, Israel, she has a master’s degree in social psychology from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and is currently a doctoral candidate in gender studies. Her study examines parenting as a platform for gaining skills and resources that are needed at the workplace.

On October 7th, Jenny attended the Nova Music Festival with her partner, where she met her younger and only brother, Shlomi, and his friend Lili, Unfortunately, Shlomi and Lili were both brutally murdered.

Less than two weeks after Jenny buried her brother, she started volunteering at a healing center that holds supporting groups for parents, siblings and friends of those who died on October 7th. She is combining her professional and personal experience to support those who share in suffering this great grief.
