Stanton Gatewood

Meet Stanton Gatewood
Stanton Gatewood serves as the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Cyber Security Coordinator/Advisor for Region 4, covering the State of Georgia. With over 35 years of experience, Gatewood is a nationally recognized leader in cybersecurity, e-privacy, and strategic cyber program development across federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, higher education, and top global corporations.

A former Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the State of Georgia, the University System of Georgia, and the University of Georgia, Gatewood also held the role of Vice President for Information Technology and CIO at Albany State University. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, he has founded two Centers of Excellence—one in cryptography and another in cybersecurity awareness and training—demonstrating his lifelong commitment to protecting information and empowering others through education.
