Shalva Through the Lens of War: A Photography Exhibit of Resilience and Hope

June 25 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Shalva photography

Experience the power of resilience through the eyes of Israel’s top photojournalists.

Join us for an unforgettable evening as we explore the impact of war—and the strength that rises from it—through 22 stirring photographs captured across Israel. This special exhibit shines a light on the work of Shalva, a Jerusalem-based organization that provides care, support, and inclusion for individuals with disabilities and their families.

In times of crisis, Shalva continues to be a beacon of hope. Through this exhibit, we honor that mission and the untold stories of perseverance and compassion.

What to Expect:

  • A gallery of 22 curated images by ten leading Israeli photojournalists

  • A window into the lives of individuals and families navigating war with strength and dignity

  • Reflections on how Shalva supports Israel’s most vulnerable — even under fire

  • Complimentary appetizers & wine will be available

Admission is free, but registration is required (please see below).

Meet Shalva’s Featured Speakers

Eli Mandelbaum
Journalist, Filmmaker & Social Entrepreneur
Eli Mandelbaum is an award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker who spent nearly two decades at Ynet, telling powerful stories about Israeli society and figures such as Amos Oz and Shimon Peres. After surviving a traumatic Molotov cocktail attack in 2021, Eli was diagnosed with PTSD and redirected his career toward social impact work. Today, he channels his storytelling skills and passion for community into initiatives at the Shalva National Center, supporting families with special needs. Eli’s journey—from journalism to activism—is one of resilience, healing, and purpose.

Itamar Shevach
Shalva’s Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer
Itamar Shevach began his journey with Shalva as a high school volunteer and has since grown into a key leader within the organization. A lawyer and MBA by training, he played a central role in Shalva’s transition to its National Center in 2016 and now oversees the organization’s legal, financial, and operational departments, as well as its social enterprises. Itamar also serves as Chairman of the National Forum for Deputy Directors of Non-Profits, lectures at the Jerusalem College of Technology, and volunteers as an MDA ambulance driver. His leadership is grounded in a deep commitment to service, strategy, and community.

Reserve your spot today and witness resilience in its most human form.
