A Recipe with a Memory

May 7 @ 6:30 pm - May 10 @ 4:00 pm

A Recipe with a Memory is a unique initiative that commemorates fallen Israeli Defense Forces soldiers and Israeli victims of terror by cooking their favorite recipes and telling their life stories.

Join the Schoenbaum Shinshinim* and Lior, the RootOne Shlicha, in this special project for Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day. The centerpiece of this project is cooking sessions where participants gather to cook a favorite dish of a fallen soldier or terror victim—people who could not come back home to enjoy it themselves. In addition to cooking, participants learn about the person and family behind the dish through pictures, stories, videos, and anecdotes shared by the family as a way of keeping their memories alive.

This is why we are thrilled to invite you to two cooking sessions via Zoom where together, we can honor two fallen Israelis and enjoy their favorite dishes.

*”Shinshinim are 18-year-old high school graduates from all over Israel who complete a year of service in Jewish Atlanta.

Join us by registering for one or both of our cooking events as we honor the legacy of these heroes, preserving their memory one recipe at a time.

This Zoom session is at 6:30PM.
