Welcome to the Interfaith Connector!

Atlanta’s Interfaith Connector initiative strives to support interfaith couples and families through inclusive programming, enhanced communication, and foster genuine acceptance and connection to the Jewish community.

Doug joined Federation as Director of Interfaith Engagement in November of 2023 after a 17-year run as executive director of Congregation Gesher L’Torah, a Conservative synagogue in Alpharetta, GA. The non-Jewish portion of an interfaith family, Doug and his wife Laura Zucker, a physician with North Fulton Pediatrics, raised their sons, Ben and Sam, in Alpharetta before sending them off to college at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Chicago, respectively.

In his years at Gesher L’Torah, Doug had the opportunity to both learn from and advise other interfaith couples as they negotiated their own particular family journeys. The opportunity to help provide resources on a wider scale to others on a similar path is what led him to accepting the responsibility of leading JFGA’s new interfaith initiative.

After graduating from college, Doug moved to Atlanta to intern in the sports department at CNN. Following that he worked in video production for a number of years before becoming the promotions director for Sports Radio 680 the Fan. During football season he can still be heard on the airwaves of 680, broadcasting high school games and hosting recruiting shows.
