Show your kids and grandkids how to be hands-on activists! Join Women’s Philanthropy and Repair the World to pack healthy snack bags for PAWKids — an organization that supports kids and families. This family-friendly activity can be done right from your home.
Latonya Gates founded PAWkids about five years ago to help care for the children and families of Grove Park/Bankhead. The program began as an afterschool program that focused on the holistic development of children, providing them with academic coaching, food security, extracurricular activities, and behavioral healthcare. What started as two families sending their children to PAWkids, is now 35 families! PAWkids has expanded in programming to include learning pods and a food pantry (Claudia’s House) during COVID. The snack bags we are creating will help feed the kids in the learning pods, as well as kids in the neighboring schools and their teachers!
At this event, you will put together snack bags for the kids at PAWKids. There is no specific amount of bags needed for this event; make as many as you’d like! Completed bags can be dropped off to your area captain.
Here’s the shopping list for Claudia’s House Snack Bags:
- Brown paper lunch bags
- Juice boxes/pouches
- Granola bars (Nutrigrain, Nature Valley, Chewy, etc.)
- Chips (Cheezits, Goldfish, and pretzels also work!)
- Apple sauce (donated by GoGo squeeZ so no need to purchase!)
Co-chairs: Vanessa Frank, Dayna Royal and Elana Satisky
